New Orleans emcee Alfred Banks isn’t wasting time getting back into the musical scheme of things with his latest project titled One Guy Standing By Himself.
This project is produced ENTIRELY by Denver, Colorado native Sedrick Avenue.
This album chronicles Alfred’s life up to this point (which along with many other artists were directly affected by the Covid pandemic) with his classic witty metaphors/punchlines, humor and introspection. He glides over these tracks and with a project clocking in a little less than 30 minutes, he gives a dope release to start the wheels back running to his successful movement via his UnderdogCentral imprint.
With his lead single WAIVE, the slow stomp, boom-bap laden Sedrick Avenue track has Alfred speaking in a cocky yet confident tone on the track as he maneuvers through his lines with ease. Even as a younger artist, he let’s you know that “old heads call me young/ but I’m from a different crop“. He even gets a little political as he states, “a nice economy is cool, but equality is better“. Versatile indeed.
This release was also a top 10 release on Itunes Hip Hop charts so that within itself is a great thing that shows the demand for Alfred Banks music is definitely there. And he has definitely delivered with this project.
